Shironeko – The Only Reason to Watch Oreimo

So a new season of Ore no Imouto Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai is in full swing and I think I’m starting to hate it haha. I usually don’t dislike many anime and can at least find something to like in most works but Kirino is really annoying me in this one haha, and It’s not like I liked the first season that much more or anything. Why the hell do I even watch this? Oh yeah Ruri Gokou.

Through the years I have taken many pictures of Ruri Gokou, and based on the amount I guess I could be a bit of a fan of her. “Who the hell is Ruri Gokou?” you say, she’s Kuroneko, or uh Shironeko in this case, though you’d never hear her real name from anyone 2D or 3D.

This time I got a SEGA prize figure of her and she is one of the many I came to acquire by actually playing the god-forsaken machines.

I didn’t really notice until  I was editing the pictures but this rendition of Kuroneko is ridiculously cute. There’s also the fact that I just finished catching up on the latest episode where she comes out in this exact outfit so I might be the tiniest bit biased.

Nah, she really is ridiculously cute.

As it is to be expected from prize figures she’s pretty rough around the edges, sometimes literally. You can see that the little tie in her summer dress is a kinda mashed together.

Even if her production quality isn’t top notch, she still seems to have an awesome sculpt and expression. I knew there was a reason I would throw money at the machine to get her! Besides blatant fanboyism.

Apart from the rather nasty seam line between her body and her dress, you can see in this picture the slight curve of her chest that fits perfectly with her petite frame. Ah, there are all sorts of wonderful breasts people in this world.

By far my favorite part of this figure is her face. At first I didn’t really think she looked that much like Kuroneko, she looked a bit too wide-faced to me, however I’ve since then revised my opinion. Her cheeks have a slight puffiness that houses the ever so cute blush that she and all other Oreimo girls seem to have. Her eyes fall somewhere between sharp and sweet, much like her personality in the show and beside them is her iconic mole. Ack, I’m falling in love.

You really can’t see her back with all that hair getting in the way, nor is it anything very elaborate but I very much like it nonetheless.

In the anime she wears the very hat! I was a bit disappointed to learn that her hat is pretty much glued to her hand and you can’t put it on her. You can also see the little frills on her dress which are pretty well done.

This would be a more fetishistic shot if her toes weren’t melded together so obviously.

Base is simple and to the point, nothing wrong here. A literal rough around the edge in plain view.

“I will have a different name to call you in two months.”

Close up of the frills. This rendition of her gives her a generous, slightly plump and delicious thighs. I have no idea how she would be in the anime since I don’t remember getting this type of fan service from her. You can also see her fingers are pretty well done.

I get the feeling that Oreimo is going for a full-blown siscon ending,  you can really get that vibe considering many of the lines between Kirino and Kyosuke can be taken with double meaning. Though I guess that is part of the appeal of this series, it keeps the tension up at the expense of the viewer’s sanity. All this is what I gather from the anime alone as I have not read the LN or manga. Well here’s hoping there’s less Kirino and more Kuroneko, man this is gonna be one annoying season ahahaha.

Till Next Time~

  1. Looks like this one is a bit more rough in the quality department then my original SEGA Kuroneko fig, but she’s still pretty cute all the same!

Also completely agree on all sentiments about the show.

    • It seems like they want to cram as much detail as they can with more modern prize figures but at this level of productions quality the flaws are way more apparent.

I don’t mind too much in this case because her face came out pretty darn cute.

  2. Awww Shironeko, I was quite enchanted as I saw the picture were ste was standing in the flowers, I really like it ^^

She might appear a little rough on close look, but that is not the most important aspect of a figure. I actually think the important things like face, skintone and dress are very well done. Facial expression and body language are also quite convincing.

Even when there are a few prize figure flaws on overall appearance she is simply beautiful. how tall is she btw?

So Kirino keeps on ruining the anime. Her character is annoying, you can get thousands of snotty bitching girls in real life. But who wants that in anime. She’s no tsundere, just an annoying bitch. Only my humble opinion of course XD

    lovely pictures, sir =)

    • Yes you just described my whole reason for liking her even though she might be a bit rough.

She’s around 1/8th scale or maybe a bit smaller. Still pretty big for a prize.

      She’s not tsundere she’s bitch-dere :P.

      Thank you kindly.

  3. Mannnnn she’s a real cutie — definitely better than any of the prize figures Ash reviewed. The summer dress really is the perfect candidate for the prize figure treatment. It’s so simple, yet looks so gooood.

But man, I’m dangling by a string here with season 2. Season 1 was enjoyable because I could connect with most of the characters to some degree, even Kirino’s closet otaku complex. But now she just seems more and more like an underage b& choofag who gets wayyy too excited about splurging money and shitty anime. Kyousuke is going full-retarded with this sister complex thing. And the characters that I still like (Kuroneko, crazy homogame girl) don’t get any screen time.

    tl;dr: FUCK

On a side note, I need a way to convince Liz to wear something like that without making it obvious that I’m trying to make her copy an anime character.

    • Agreed, simple is better in this kind of thing.

Lol, well I’m pretty sure there’s a part where it’s very Kuroneko centric, hopefully we’re getting to it. I’m more worried about what comes after that. Hopefully they don’t pull a “we’re not blood-related after all” card.

You could just buy her a summer dress, they can’t be that expensive right? Who am I kidding I know nothing of this.

  4. Nice pictures, as usual. I think it’s good to see prize figures getting some love, too. Although I wish they were a bit more readily available in the major net stores, often don’t find out about potentially interesting ones until seeing them at a con or something.

People seem upset at the anime recently, but I ain’t even mad.

    • I never find out about them either. I don’t really know of anywhere where they publicize them too, since MFC seems to focus much more on the big names in figures.

Actually, I can’t imagine you being mad at anything.

  5. I don’t know why I’m watching Oreimo either, there’s nothing I particularly like about the series. Part of just going with the crowd I guess.

I must admit that Kuroneko looks pretty good for a prize figure. Like you said, her face doesn’t really look like Kuroneko at first, but it does have that cute look to it.

    • I remember really liking when they touched the theme of kirino being stuck between the otaku world and the rest of the world, but now it just feels like she’s throwing a tantrum for everything, sigh.

  6. The OreImo S2? Hmmm… yeah watching still for Kuroneko.

Holy shit, Shironeko! Seeing this in this day just made my whole week.

Wow, just seeing this can blow you off on your chair and go extreme fanboy mode. Damn cute.
