So recently I received my Kuroko figma.  Waited pretty much all of last year since the game she comes bundled with kept getting delayed.

The game itself is a visual novel with some quick time events here and there using some rather nice 3D models. While I’m not fluent in Japanese I can vaguely understand what’s going on… except Kuroko, I can’t for the life of me understand anything she says other than her sentence ending “desu no”.

Now that the setting is… er… set… we turn to Kirino.

I found these figma sized cola cans a while back, been wanting to use them forever now. Glad to see that I finally get to use them.

Hopefully this sequence of events is not too obtuse.

Also, hmm, what a familiar arm band, what a familiar gun too.

“Nice shooting there, son.”

Yes, I know what you are thinking, the can in the air part was magic… or if you are exilehero, why is the can still in one piece?

I bet if you watched the movies as a kid, I betyou tried to do this. I tried, it’s really hard actually.

WAHAHA Ze~ Today we’ll be looking at an ordinary magician – Marisa Kirisame, by Griffon. Marisa is form Touhou which is some anime or something.

Here’s some music for you to listen to while reading the post! It’s an arangement of Magus Night, Marisa’s latest boss theme.

She’s a pretty old figure but I got the December re-release. She’s from Griffon, of which I haven’t heard many good things. I wanted to see for myself how they were though, since they do a lot of other Touhou figures that I might be interested in getting.

I really like how her face came out. She has a really cute expression with her beautiful eyes and cheerful smile. She also has a bit of blush on her but it’s a little hard to distinguish. Very very cute, I started to fall in love as I reviewed the photos ahaha. You could say she stole my heart.

She comes with a broom which is essential for a magician.

The hat is removable. But you shouldn’t do that, if you take away the hat from a Touhou she will die. She’s also hard to recognize without her hat. The hair is literally a little rough around the edges but nothing major for me. Also, the braid is on the wrong side!

Her hair has many strands which is pretty. There there’s a seam line on the  left in the middle of the hair, nothing too bad.

Bow and left arm detail.

There’s something off about the white parts of the whole figure It’s like it’s a little dirty, it has like a light shade on it or something. That’s probably my main complaint. Maybe they were trying to go for a more textured look but it just looks dirty to me. You can see it here in the braid’s bow. But it’s fine since the rest of the figure looks great to me. Especially her face.

Shoes! Miette was disappointed that she wasn’t wearing “Mary Janes”, whatever that is. Some sort of pot shoe?

The base has a little plaque which is a bitch to photograph without it being glary.

Like any good Touhou girl Marisa comes with bloomers for underwear. Bloomer-shots are a bit less appealing than panty-shots I’m afraid, just the tiniest bit though.

You can take off the broom.

Which leaves a hole in her right hand.

Marisa has a rather large hat.

“You feeling lucky, Ze~?”

I dub this one “Unlimited Stellar Works”. Shrine maiden, do you have enough spell cards?! Ze~

“Argh, too many stars now!” It’s not nice to boast.

I wanted to experiment a little with “Bokeh” so I bought some Christmas lights.

Made a little start shaped filter. It covers most of the image but I like how the lights get morphed.

Marisa is very cute. The end Ze~!

Who is up for a one off cross over picture?

I really like Touhou crossover with other series.

A long time ago, I tried doing this one picture. That picture was a far cry from what I was trying to attempt.

I always wanted to try and revisit the idea in the future, I originally thought of making a remake so to speak of that picture. Plus I been wanting to do something with Homura and Sakuya.

A while ago I though, wouldn’t it be interesting if Homura and Sakuya ever fought. Two time manipulating combatants who use their powers and conventional weapons in a similar manner.

Thus, this picture was born. After hours trail and tribulations of both me and exilehero this was one of the many pictures I took.

I finally got to do my original idea with a shout out to Embodiment of Scarlet Devil with a red moon as a backdrop.

So, who do you think would win?

The final chapter in the trilogy! This time it’s a lot of photos so I’ll let them do most of the talking. Some day I’ll do paneling for the comics… It just takes a lot of work! Anyways here’s Part 1 and here’s Part 2 if you’re interested.

Dang it, a white Christmas was off by one day. Silly snow, you are supposed to fall on the 24th and 25th not on the 23rd.

So, it snowed and the snow actually accumulated, that makes a grand total of two times this year. Which is something that hasn’t happened since I was a child.

So I did the one thing everyone should do when it snows.

Go out and play.

In my case, going out to play means taking pictures. These are a few snaps that I braved the harsh snowy winter for.

Noisy picture unrelated.

So, there have been some changes made to blog.

First change, bigger pictures. Yay! As you probably seen in exilehero’s beautiful Fate pictures.

Alright, lets go over the important changes that have been made.

1. There has been some slight re-branding, the title of the blog has changed to Otagamers since there are two of us.

2. A new item has been added to the menu called Blog clicking of this item will take you to the usual list of posts as before or as you normally see on most blogs.

3. The other new item is the Blogroll, the blogroll has been removed from the side bar and instead become it’s own item.

4. The home page now displays only a slider with the five most recent posts, it automatically scrolls but you can click on the arrows to advance through the items.

5. The pagination on the bottom shows your current position on the list, clicking on any of them will take you to the appropriate post.

As mentioned before clicking on the Blog menu item will take you to a list of posts which you can navigate, or go to the next page of posts. The blog page shows ten blog posts per page.

The Blogroll menu item is a drop down list with all the different blogs we either exchanged links explicitly, visit on a regular basis, or simply give a nod to as an act of thanks.

If you want to be added just let us know, we would be more than happy to do so. The more the merrier as they say.

I hope the changes we have made have been for the better, I hope you will enjoy the bigger pictures as much as we will. If you find anything out of place let us know, we did mess with the template quite a bit after all.

This time we’ll take a look at Alter’s loli Feito-chan. Though this Fate is a little different from many other figures out there because she is sporting casual clothes instead of the magical girl “armor” that she’s typically depicted in.

First off all the figure info. She’s by Alter, first figure I get from them. There’s actually 2 version of this figure, this one I got, and a limited release version. The limited release version’s right arm is held closer to the chest.

She’s based on the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st version of fate. Though I hardly remember her in something other than her magical girl outfit.

I got her from Figure Haven, though I think I bought the last one they had, they had a black Friday deal. I sorta got her on a whim when I saw her and was awestruck by her beautiful face. For some reason I think Fate is really cute when she’s in casual clothing.

Every time I go outside with a figure bad stuff seems to happens. It was really cold and windy today when we went to take the photos.

The reflector I was using was blow by the wind straight into Fate. She was about to fall a very nasty fall, but managed to catch her. However by doing so she got some scratches as you can see in this photo.

She makes a pair with a certain other Alter figure.

Yuri goggles. Though I think they’re just very good friends really.

She comes with Bardiche, her self aware weapon robot thing. I guess the proper term is Intelligent Device, and it’s in Stand By Mode.

And it’s pointy on the other end. Though I don’t remember seeing her use that end for anything.

Fate has nice legs.

When I was penetrating Fate I realized she was a very tight. I had a hard time putting it in and I thought she would get stretched out or maybe even break something. There was no other choice but to put some more force behind it and I was able to slide it in. Yet it was a very tight fit. So take care when inserting Bardiche into her hands as it may take some effort.

I can’t complain about her not using the other end anymore.

You can see the frills of her dress in this one. Also the detail of her belt buckle bracelet, very clean. She also arrived with a little smudge on her leg.

Did I mention she has really nice legs? I tend to get distracted by this a lot lately.

Ever heard the expression, “Fate’s ass is the miracle of the universe”? Well it applies here.

Here you can see her boots and base. Boots are very glossy, you can even make out reflections. Base is nice and simple transparent. Base matches with Nanoha’s.

Man, I was gonna come up with a pun for the title but it was too much work.

Today we are taking a look at Alter’s rendition of Yamda Aoi from the nice show that is Working!!.

I must say that Alter totally hit the jackpot with this one. Just from a glance I feel that Alter was able to capture the essence of the character quite well.

Just from a look you can easily tell Yamada is quite clumsy with the way she carries the menus and how everything is flying off the tray. You can see how she is oblivious to all of this with her happy expression.

She usually means well but tends to fail spectacularly in trying to do so.

I really like Yamada, her clumsiness, happy go lucky oblivious personality, and quirkiness makes her my favorite girl from Working!!

One thing I really like about Alter is how they tend to do less popular or more obscure characters instead of only going for whatever is popular at the time.

Alter being Alter did their thing and put really nice details even it Yamda is a simple figure. Detail such as the falling items on the tray.

As well as with the menus, that contain quite legible writing and nice looking pictures of some of the menu items.

Yamada’s apron also contains a nice amount of details in the frills, the creases over her breasts and her training badge.

Which extends to the back with the nice bow and creases at the waist.

Yamada’s stockings have the usual shine giving us a good look at your exemplary zettai ryouki.

Alter included an alternate look for Yamada with her hair clipped up. One thing I found interesting is that instead of an alternate head or so Alter merely included an alternate hair piece with the pony tail. You can swap them in a manner similar to how it is done with figmas.

While I can’t remember ever seeing Yamada do her hair like that it sure raises her charm by 36%. Also, delicious nape if you are into that sort of thing.

The base is pretty simple, typical circular base with Yamada’s name and the show title.

My wholly unbiased opinions says that Alter did a really good job on this figure and every one should go buy it.

How can you not if you like the show.

Plus Alter is so totally gonna make a set if you ask me. They released Yamada and announced a Poplar as well, I bet they do the other girls too.

Hmm… makes me wonder if I will end up getting them all. I really like the Working!! girls they are a fun.

Oh I wonder if there will also be a Kotori-chan one.

I almost forgot to mention but I think Alter did a nice job with the face. Looks exactly as in the show.

If haven’t noticed I really like this figure. Quite happy Alter released a figure from Working!! and of my favorite girl no less.

So as a continuation to a couple of previous posts this time I had Mio join me.

Mio wasn’t by herself though, exilehero’s Mayoi came along for the ride too.

Shortly after coming back from Canada exilehero and me were invited by our friends to go to a newly opened Korean BBQ.

After my hotpot experience during Canadian thank’s giving I was craving a similar experience. It was cool, pretty similar in the end, you only pay for the meat and all the side dishes you can eat are free.

Delicious, I particularly liked the one that was seasoned with something or other. However, make sure it’s cooked, in this particular restaurant our waitress took care of that for us.

Speaking of the waitress, she asked me about my picture taking shenanigans, long time since anyone had done.

Not terribly expensive either, even more so since it was four of us. I did end up craving more of it by the time we left though.

It was a cool experience over all. Wouldn’t mind going back.
